Meet the Fool

Fool’s Errand is the studio and design practice of Ridgewood-based artist, Oliver Rudie Ennis. The artist moves fluidly between the mediums of print, ceramic, and wood to produce pieces that tickle their fancy and speak to their experience.

Origin of the Errand

After a decade-long career in commercial design, Fool’s Errand emerged as a studio practice and a salve. Oliver holds a BFA with an emphasis on design and craft practices, periodically participating in residencies, delivering visiting-artist workshops, and giving talks on their work and experience.

The majority of Fool’s Errand work is dreamt up and created in New York. Oliver is a rare city bird with access to means and materials via work-trade relationships with a Brooklyn-based ceramics studio and a woodshop in Queens.

Noted exceptions include artist collaborations and special collections produced on-site at residency programs.
